Now I do have question.  How does DSO get there parts?  The reason I ask is that the X48 MB comes with some programs like 3D mark 06, the games STALKER and Kaspersky anti virus.  So to DSO, will mine have all that too?  It would save me some money.   IM getting this info from (H)Enthusiast.

Very good question.

I;d like to get an answer to this as well Confused

brian, I noticed you selected an Nvidia card. It does not look like the Asus motherboard supports it?  As far as I have heard/read, only OEM's like HP etc. have drivers for motherboards to support both SLI and Crossfire.

All motherboards with a PCI-E slot can support any PCI-E GPU from any manufacturer.

But only Nvidia chipset motherboards will support SLI (two or more Nvidia cards running in SLI mode) and all other boards will support CrossfireX (two or more ATI cards).
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.

I see you snapped up a E8500 yourself =P. When i saw those up there yesterday afternoon i was like WOOHOO! Not that an E8400 is much worse...its just a morale thing to get a E8500 over a E8400...

That will be a nice system, no real problems with it. Cept maybe the ram, are you like me and plan to add more ram later on?

You know ive actually been reading up on CPU "cherries" I.E CPUs that binned for much higher specs, but where 'downgraded' by Intel because they already met the demand for that certain high end chip.

Im actually wondering of getting an E8500 over a E8400 would increase/decrease/stay the same the chances of getting a 'cherry'
E8500@ 4.03Ghz
XFX 790i Ultra
1000W Corsair HX
2 280 GTX EVGA FTW
4GB OCZ Reaper 1800Mhz
250-80-300GB VR HD
Logitech Z-2300 2.1 Speakers
Asus Xonar 7.1
Hanns-G HG 281D 28" HDMI Monitor

im not that sure of that cherry thing. As far as ram more ram of coarse will the future.
the reason i went with the x48 is its 16000mhz compatable and by the reviews its very easy to OC. plus its stable. so i think its a good board for the future.as far as no SLI...not a worry im just getting a 22 incher so 1 should work.
