I bought a hailstorm II as you remember. Its awesome and I love it to this day!
My friend needs help upgrading his computer, I know this isn't digitalstorm related but he needs help. he plays war thunder alot and wants to play on medium but he cant. He has a amd athlon x62 2 core cpu. @ 2.3ghz And a nvidia gtx 240. Hes buying a new motherboard, he is trying to decide to buy a 4 core cpu @ 3ghz or a new GTX nvidia 650 ti boost. His computer runs 50-60% cpu load doing normal things. such as chrome, norton takes up alot of cpu load. He can't do anything about that. He plays warthunder alot so I need help on that? |

His budget is 400$
But he needs a new psu 550w to be sure. And a new motherboard. So we have 200$ to spend. Im looking at buying the psu from amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Builder-Series-Watt-CX500/dp/B0092ML0MY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1381527427&sr=8-2&keywords=Corsair+silver+psu Or could I actually buy the parts from digitalstorm? |

Depends on his monitor, but for the most part, the better video card IMHO would help more. The cpu is a bit on the light side but with the choice of either/or, I'd go gtx 650. A better cpu would help but budget wouldn't allow.
Not sure if DS sells parts but Amazon and Newegg are probably faster, cheaper , etc. Too bad he couldn't go for the Vanquish 1, but I do understand budgets. Problem is, he could spend hard earned cash on a new mobo, install the old cpu, update the psu and video card and have issues. It might go smooth and chances are it will. Good Luck. Hey, He has a Athlon x2 4400+ motherboard is a AM 2 socket, with a gt 240.
He plays warthunder alot. If anyone here could tell us if its cpu or gpu dependant that would be nice. He is looking at the gtx 660, but will his cpu bottleneck it? Will a gtx 660 work with any mobo? |

The mobo needs a Pciex16 slot for gtx 660. Pcie 2.0 vs 3.0 doesn' t matter in this case.
