I'll take a crack at this, although there are other members here with more experience. Your system is nearly identical to one that I ordered from DS this summer. Here are my thoughts:
• If you're primarily gaming, then I think the Intel 11900K is a great choice. However, if you're doing more than gaming, then consider a Ryzen CPU. They have more cores, and non-gaming applications can take advantage of that. Personally, I went with the 11900K, because I'm only interested in gaming. • Consider switching from the FireCuda 520 to the Samsung 980 Pro. The FireCuda has read performance of 5000 MBps, while the Samsung is 7000 MBps. Plus the Samsung is $39 cheaper. • I would suggest that you not get the CPU Boost. I originally configured my Velox with an overclocked CPU, and the other members here talked me out of it. I did some research, and found some benchmarks online that showed little to no benefit from overclocking the 11900K. Some games actually run a tiny bit slower. You'll just be using more energy, and pouring heat into your system. That CPU already kicks up one core to 5.3 GHz when it needs to. When it doesn't need to, you should let it slow down, and cool off. I was really surprised by the benchmarks that I found. I would send you a link, but I can't find it. Otherwise I think your system is looking great. It's nearly a clone of mine. :) James Edited by JamesAstro - 24 Aug 2021 at 9:09am |

I completely agree with JamesAstro, and your revision is where you want to be. The Samsung 980 PRO is the better NVMe SSD.
Overclocking is of no use if you are not going to be doing very intense productivity work in addition to gaming, and if that were the case, you would want more cores instead of faster.

This is my exact build I got a month ago except I got the Ryzen 7 5800x and asus prime x570 pro. It’s a great build, you’ll get the FE 3080 for sure since that’s what digital storm has the most stock of right now. It runs tops 78° but mostly around 72° and around 160fps at max settings for games, well that’s what I’m getting on my 165hz monitor. Only thing is the rgb fans aren’t customizable online, only with remote you get 4 colors and multi color option. Maybe if you ask them you can get the customizable ones the have available for aventum. Tho it would be a special request idk. I love the build it’s awesome!
