Hey guys! New user here, both on the forum and with the Lumos computer system I just purchased. It has so far been an amazing computer, and I love it. However, I have had a couple of issues so far, but I feel that might just be because I am new to the computer scene and I would like some help if possible.
This issue is a simple one I think. I have been trying to hook up another monitor to my rig, an old one of my brothers, to be used until I get a new one of a brand I prefer, however, we have not been able to attach it and activate it properly. My brother pointed out that for some reason the second HDMI port didn't seem to be working, just the first one. We even unhooked the second monitor and plugged it in and it still wasn't working. Does anyone have any advice as to what's going on? Any help would be appreciated. Sincerely, MrE |

Silly question... but are you plugging into the GPU or the mobo? All mobo slots are disabled when a discreet card is installed.

Maybe not so silly. it is quite likely your video card only has one HDMI port. The Display Port is actually better to use these days. If you need to, just buy an adapter to convert your cable, or get a display port cable if the monitor supports it. You can use either or both ports, but on the GPU CARD, not the motherboard. |

Thanks for the responses! However, I saw today I actually have the Lynx model and not Lumos if that caused any confusion. I am unsure what he was plugging into, as I said I am still trying to learn about computers and how to work on them myself. Do any of you guys, or girls, have an idea where I can go to learn more?
