That build looks good. The only thing I wonder about is why you have two reader and wrighters?
As for the GPU question, how big is your moniter, and what resalution do you have it at?

I may be wrong, but for that I beleave DSO recomends a single GPU And if you'r getting a single I would recomend the GTX 275, its the best priceVSproformence out of the GTX cards, and is only a few FPS (frames per second) slower then the GTX285.
Though like I said I may be mistaken.
Eather way weather its single or x2SLI I recomend the GTX275

Nice build; that's what I would have gotten except I would have opted to LC the CPU :P
If you can afford it right now, might as well SLI 275s. Easier to have DS do it now then trying to do it yourself later! :D |

Actualy I have to disagree, if he has the budget to upgrade to SLI 275s now then I would recomend spending that money on upgrading to Liquid cooling, It would allow you to OC to a higher level, wich would hands down show proformence increases. Not knowing what types of games he wants to play, I cant recomend just throwing in another GTX275 right off the bat, when like I said that money would be better spent upgrading to liquid cooling right off the bat. As its a pain in the a$% to upgrade to later down the road. going SLI down the line if he needs it is easy.

I like the build he has now and would not change it, LC is always a great option tho. Other then that the main reason I love this build is because it has room to grow to a super beast if the need is there.
@AlCoito, do the games you play support sli? Edited by DST4ME - 07 May 2009 at 9:10pm |

Yes the games I play do support sli. I play Company of Heros, World in Conflict. My main game is iRacing a motorsports sim and this software is constantly evolving. A new build every 3 months. |

Well then you are good to go, if you can spring for the LC, it would be great to have but not a necessity, personally I always say if you have the budget for it, then get it, if not you are more then great with v8 or Noctua NH-U12P.
@B@d//j0ke, personally I get 2 DVD drives for copying CD/DVDs, cause its disk to disk so its faster, but you never need 2 of them, only one will do, but if you get 2 of them, its best for only one to be lightscribe, no point in having 2 lightscribe. |

Then I DO take that back. If the games you play do use SLI then that too is what I recomend. Not knowing before what games you would be playing I couldnt just say "get another GTX275." As you'r games might not have even needed or used SLI.
But please answer me why you have two optical drives, both set to the same thing??

@AlCoito - Your build is nearly identical to mine - though I added LC for the CPU @ $299 which put me just over $3K. You get the extra discount so LC is even less. You might want to pull the trigger.

Actually, I had a couple more upgrades so you would still be short since the difference between your AC and LC would only be about $160 - I would still pull the trigger.
