The more I sit down and think about the computer I want to build, the harder it hits me. What happens when I'm out of my apartment and have a 5000+ Dollar rig just sitting there waiting to get stolen? I was thinking about getting the Enix and just packing it with power at first, but now that I think about it, that thing is so easy to just pick up and take off with. I don't keep a television or anything expensive other than my computer around so whoever would have decided to break in would be sure to notice the computer first. Could I maybe opt for the Syndicate and drill four holes on the bottom and secure it to the floor with some screws? I'm sorry if this question seems ridiculous but if I buy an expensive computer only to have it taken later on I won't be able to replace it for at least a year. Any suggestions?

Other than having a mean dog sitting next to your machine, or a security camera pointed at it, it's tough to protect anything against a burglary.
 
I also live in an apartment and have peace of mind with a good apartment rental insurance policy. Take pictures of your rig and keep the pictures and receipt in a safe place. I scan my receipts and store them in the cloud.
 
Stuff happens but an insurance policy is great protection.

Hi Alias.... I' m not being flip or sarcastic but if it was me I would buy a ODE level 4 for $2499 or a build equivaland and put the other $2500 into a security system and heavy deadbolted door and windows.      You can game on a high level for $2500.    Good luck.

I can't, I absolutely hate the chassis. The Enix and Syndicate cases are the only I would consider, I am done with traditional towers. I think securing the doors and windows further would be a good idea. I'll look into it.

I think what the first person suggested also covers computers, rental insurance. I do agree that insuring my equipment is a good idea.

Hi Alias,
I don't think you really need pictures.  When you buy from DS you get a 3 ring binder.  One of the items in it is is a sheet with your Order Number, Config ID and a list of all components that make up the computer.  Any items not listed as brand name, such as DS certified memory, can be traced back to DS with the Order Number. 
 
Just keep the binder in a safe place and you have a complete record of you equipment.
 
With your renter's insurance and/or insurance on the PC and your binder from DS this should be enough evidence to file a claim in case something happens.

I keep all my documents in a safe place away from the PC that way I have all the numbers I need if it is stolen. Also my 2 pitbulls that I have in my house make more than enough noise (barking), and I would pity the person who broke into my house and tried to mess with them.

Just as a side note on the renter's insurance, yes you will have all the documentation needed, but take pictures as well, its quick and it will make the entire process much easier.
