I got my computer 2 years ago. The size of SSD's were small back then. I am running out of room now that games are coming out in the 50 gb range. Any one know a way to easily mirror my ssd which has the OS on it so I can get a larger ssd in place?

Use cloning software like Acronis to do an exact copy, OS and all.

You can do that, or you can also just buy a larger SSD, and install it. Leave your OS and everything on the current c:/ and just install any new games or whatever on the larger SSD. We're seeing 1TB SSD's now a days... and SanDisk is already releasing 4TB next year with 8TB+ the following for the business/server world. Which means, we're only a year or two away ourselves.

I thought you couldn't put programs are a drive separate from the OS. I already have a 1 TB drive for media. So I can just put programs on it too? I don't think it's that simple. If I get another SSD, don't I have to do something with the RAID setting to make the new drive appear as part of the drive with the OS?

Sure you can. You can install programs on any of your storage drives.
If you for example have a 60GB SSD. With Windows installed and fully updated, let's say it takes 20gb of it's own. So now we're down to 40GB. Install Games, Programs whatever you want on your second hard drive. THey should by default still create an icon on your desktop. No issue or problem. You don't have to install programs on your c:/ It is literally that simple. No little extra things you to have to or anything. Now for raid, if you raid, you will lose everything before it creates the RAID. But if you have a C:/ which is a current SSD and install a larger SSD. It will simply show up as E:/ or whatever is next for you. You don't have to set anything. It's damn near plug and play. Don't over think it or be intimidated. It's literally as simple as when you're installing, just pick a location on any of your drives, and go. Done and done. Hell, some people keep their games installed on their bigger mechanical HDD's, and literally just drag and drop them to their SSD when they're ready to play.
