asus p6x58d
win7 64 bit

What is a good soundcard? I game/music lover. no price cap

Do I have space?
Where do I install?
How do I install?
How do I switch over from on board sound once new hardware is in

Help a noob out!

Thanks

edit: Was thinking about getting this...thoughts? I own a pair of Sennheiser hd595 and onboard sound isn't cutting it

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829132014

also, the card would need to be PCI E and not PCI right? doesn't the p6x58d have both? Just want to make sure my gfx cards didn't use up the space

from what i know (never done it)

if the card is PCI-E....ANY slot (the short little one, or a full sized one) will work, as long as its a PCI-E slot and not a normal PCI.

if its PCI, you need ANY pci slot (make sure its not pcie)

pciE looks like
----  ------------------
PCI looks like
------------------ -----

point of view--looking in to your case  <----that way beind the back of the case

determing if you have space is as easy as looking inside and seeing of you have the slot open that it needs. it may take some lanes (pciE at 16x, to pciE at 8x...it wont slow your system down at all however, unless your running a dual gou thats overlcoked....even then your fine) but then its jsut plug and paly.

install driver and plug in the headset to the soudn card and your good to go....i think
steam friends is kainhall
