How does Digital Storm Vortex 240mm compare to WC.

I've always heard bad things about the self contained CPU water coolers. How does H20: Stage 2: Digital Storm Vortex 240mm Radiator Liquid CPU Cooler rate vs stage 3 water cooling? I'll be in market for another PC soon but OC speeds seem to have eclipsed air coolers like Noctua, which I have now, but have never felt that comfortable with water cooled system. The yearly maintenance for one thing seems overwhelming.

Both the Vortex 240 and stage 3 water will cool just fine.    The Vortex 240 has a 240mm rad while the stage 3 only a 120mm rad.   No maintenance for Vortex and its reliability is pretty darn good.   But, any liquid system can leak but is a long shot.   Its not till stage 4 water that you get into better components like water blocks, etc.

If between Vortex 240 and stage 3 I' d recommend Vortex.   Your Noctua is a great cooler, quiet and very reliable. It cools as well as the others for most users.
