As I have posted in other threads I have been having trouble with my Ultras while playing LOTRO, and I have no idea whether or not it is because of temps but it is the only possible thing I can think of. I don't mind dropping $50 or so on some fans to install on them to help bring those temps down, and if it doesn't resolve my problems in the game and my nvlddmkm issues having cooler temps isn't a bad thing. With that being said, is this hard to do? I have never done it before and I am wondering if a noob would be able to do it Thanks |

It's not hard. I'll pull you up some links, give me a sec.
Edit: Can you tell me what temps you are running at? Edited by Zurginator - 22 May 2009 at 12:17pm |

When I run GPU-Z one says like 74-76 and the other is like 68-72 when idle. When I alt-tab out while playing games one is around 82-84 and the other is like 75-77.

That's not bad at all. Those cards run hot, it's nothing to be worried about. And since you run SLI, it's hard to find another cooler that will fit them.

Well I am not sure then why I experience these problems. Maybe I might have to just chalk it up to the fact that 8800s don't play well with 680i mobos.

TBH, that's more likely than heat, lol.

If you download EVGA's Precision app. you can monitor temps as you play. It overlays the temps on game screen. It would also let you view and control the GPU fan speeds. It also has a time vs. temp chart. (of course, it works with multiple GPUs) Blown out your fans and grills lately? Edited by Bill the Cat - 22 May 2009 at 1:36pm |
