Here's a link to the build I came up with:

http://www.digitalstormonline.com/comploadsaved.asp?id=399427

I have a 23" widescreen monitor, native resolution of 1920x1080.  I mostly play strategy games and MMOs with a little Crysis thrown in.

I'd like very much to LC the system if possible, but if it's not really necessary - then I understand.  I picked the 1250w PSU b/c I want to be able to add another GPU in the future if any games call for it sometime during the lifetime of this PC.

Thanks in advance! Cool

Oops, that is a pretty important detail isn't it!  I'd like to go with $3900 or less (as that's what I have available for spending).

My pleasure and good luck

just so you know the price for the build you posted after the discount is $3884, so you are looking at around $100 worth of saving if you order the ssd yourself.

I have a small question - is there any need to upgrade the case to the HailStorm?  I've noticed several builds on the forum use the HailStorm, but I'm not entirely sure what benefits it would offer over the HAF932?

you don't need to but if you like to go ahead, I think I forgot to change your case to it, normally for air systems I recommend the haf and for LC system I recommend the corsair, cause you don't really need that much airflow.

the corsair has hotswap bays and its a little bit bigger.

Apparently there was an issue with the motherboard I selected?  According to someone in sales, I could step back to Stage 4 cooling or upgrade to a Classified motherboard for $200 more.  We've already committed that money to the SSD, so I ended up with stepping back to Stage 4 cooling.

A little disappointed, but what can you do?

EDIT:  Decided to call back and have Sarah change the mobo to the classified but leave cooling at Stage 4.  Saves me a little money and gives me the option to upgrade the cooling in the future.  Not disappointed anymore.  Cool

Got a call from DS today, and Ankita basically was telling me (she said something about "had no chipset"?), from what I understand, that I had two options:  to upgrade to the Classified mobo and keep my Stage 6 cooling (dual loop:  cpu + 1 gpu) or keep my mobo (regular 3X) and downgrade to Stage 4 cooling (single loop:  cpu).

I opted to downgrade to Stage 4 cooling (single loop: cpu) but upgrade the motherboard to the Classified.  Not sure if I was told incorrectly or if I had a bad option in my original configuration, but that's basically what transpired.

Just for reference, here is the build I initially purchased:

BHH that makes no sense what so ever, I can't think of how and or why what they have asked you has to happen, there is nothing wrong with 3 sli and LC on cpu/gpu. the only reason you could not do that would be cause they don't have the 3x sli mobo, there is no other reason for why you can't get LC on 3x sli.

other then that nonsense the build looks good

Yup line them all up, get all the little work out of the way, so when it comes, it just goes in to it's spot, gets powered on and start installing and enjoying , mine should be here Tuesday, I can't wait lol.

I already loaded win7 64bit on vmware here and tested and figured out all the changes I need to make to move my settings in apps from the xp pc to the win7 64bit.
