Interesting point - Steven from DS schooled me yesterday that if you ordered a Vanquish - it goes right from Stage 1 to shipped. So I ordered mine last Wednesday - still in Stage 1 but sounds like it will flip right to shipped when ready. Edited by LuckyJack - 10 Sep 2015 at 3:31pm |

I have been VERY impressed with how DS keeps you posted on the status of your order. It has been my experience that the first 5 stages are fairly quick with the final quality assurance checks taking the most amount of time.
I'd love to get my new system as quickly as possible, but I truly appreciate the attention to detail that DS provides. |

I agree. I am not complaining at all and their attention to detail is a big reason I picked DS for my next computer. I am sure I will be very happy with the computer when I get it!!

Ah Stage Fever. Tis' a dangerous disease.
Reminds me of the old days of Stage 8, but those don't crop up too much anymore. But in seriousness, the stages tend to roughly vary from order to order. DS takes time to make sure it's right, so there's always a bit of fluctuation. Ordered an Apollo on the 27th I think? Just went to stage 6 after 9 days in stage 5. It says 2-5 days. Hopefully It will be shipped early next week. I'm so ready.

Ordered My Apollo on 10 Aug (Late) Stage 1 on 11 Aug stayed stage 1 till Monday the 17th (this was a killer) Shipped on 28 Aug. received UPS on 1 Sept. The wait is a killer, but would rather wait then have to send it back. Was it worth the wait... You Betcha hope you enjoy your new computer..

Awesome! That's great to hear! I ordered mine this past tuesday (9/8/15) and I'd been worrying that it was still on stage 1, I'd thought that it would also go to stage 2 before being shipped. I was also curious (because I've heard that there's been a lot of purchases due to school starting back up) if they were having to build new vanquishes due to demand. When did you purchase yours and are you still on stage 1? Here's to the long wait! I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas to arrive, and I'm rarely patient even then! |

I'm in the same boat, I ordered an Apollo system more than a week ago, it's still stuck in Phase 1! It's making me nervous that my card has been charged immediately but the system hasn't been assigned to anyone yet to begin locating parts. But after reading through the forums, I'm confident this is fairly normal this time of year, just hope I'm not waiting a month or more. I got the Phase Phever.

I didn't realize there would be a longer wait this time of year. I have emailed DS about still being in stage 1 and I am waiting for a response.....

Yep, that's one of the reasons I'm wondering. Haven't seen anyone else wait this long to get out of Phase 1, even for a customized Apollo. I emailed them a couple hours ago for a status update, hope to get a response soon. I read another post on here, that back to school time is busier for them. |

Crap! I told my son to check things out before ordering. He didn't. He told me build time was 5 days according to what it said when he ordered, but that seems to be a lie.
Because he has a different billing address than shipping address he's supposed to call to verify so I told him tomorrow to call and cancel. I just read in the faq that average build time is 15 business days. Then up to 10 business days for shipping? I asked him if he's satisified to pay that much to wait 5 weeks for his computer. No answer. |

Well ya gotta give it to the customer service, I just heard back too, and was assured that they are busier than usual right now, but I have not slipped through the cracks. Good to be kept in the loop! I'd rather wait a few extra days than for them to cut corners on building/testing. Sweet!

I think it depends on the system you buy. Fully customized (Apollo, Slade, etc.) can take maybe 2-3 weeks before you get it, but some of the others are sold as-is, and ship more quickly, if I'm not mistaken. |

Yes goofy173 if you buy a prebuilt it takes about 5 days to ship. Custom builds take longer for obvious reasons. I too am having mine ship to a different address and all I had to do was fill out a from they emailed me. Took like 5 minutes to do :)

Also the 15 days is from the time they start until the time they ship, not 15 days to build and 10 more days to ship.

Well, he got a Vanquish with no customization.
He F***ed up the validation so he has to call. He printed out some form he was filling out for validation. So I guess he's going to go ahead and get it. Sounds like DS are good computers from what I'm reading here. I just got scared from the faq and some of the other posts. Thanks everybody. My old roommate got a system built here, a few years ago, and after watching his experience with DS, especially how they handled a failed hard drive a year later, you'll get a top quality machine with great customer service, and worth the wait. Vanquish is a prebuilt system. I think you will be happy and it will be worth the wait. I did research for about a month looking at different websites and such but found myself always coming back to this one and I believe I will be happy that I did. They have been very friendly both when I called and when I sent an email. So far I am very happy with Digital Storm.
