How long will it take to receive my new PC

I am posting this to be informative and to answer a question I had but did not ask prior to my purchase. How long will it take to receive my PC?

I placed my order for a Vanquish Storm4 level 3 on Monday 14 Dec 15. This was a standard pre-configed build and I requested nothing custom or special







I promptly received an email stating that my order was processed and it would ship in 5 business days. That would mean shipping on Monday 21 Dec 15.




On Thursday 24 Dec 15 I got a tracking number.






The computer evidently sat on Digital Storms dock for 4 days until on Monday 28 Dec 15 my package was picked up by UPS







....and now that UPS has the package, I get a delivery date, which can be seen in the above image. Monday 4 Jan 16

That will be 13 business days, or 21 days total to receive a pre-built PC

I don't work for DS and certainly am not taking sides , but my take....  For a period of time, until just a few days ago, the Vanquish had been changed from a 5 day shipping to 10-15 days shipping and listed as a pre-order.  This was because of a Huge influx in orders.  The 5 day shipping message might have been an auto message from the usual ship times.  I can't say what the shipping times posted in config were when you ordered.

Business days excludes weekends and holidays.   If it shipped on the 24th, then for the 3 day Xmas weekend its doubtful the carrier, UPS or FedEx, did anything with it.   Not until Monday would any updates be issued.  This is from my experience, so yours might be different. 

Unfortunately, from the 24th until the arrival the 4th, there are two,  3 day Holiday weekends. 
   
Shipping is out of DS hands.  Average shipping times to the East coast is 5 days.  To Michigan, my guess is 3-4 days.  Xmas week there was all kinds of complaints of shipping being delayed because of the package overload and weather.

Just to add, I understand 100% your desire to get the pc in the door and set it up.  Waiting is terrible.

As someone who is intimately familiar with shipping, allow me to say, kindly, that expecting anything "on time" the weeks around the Christmas holidays is a long shot.

Businesses such as Amazon set records this year with their shipping. UPS, FedEx and USPS were all well above seasonal normal as far as parcels moved and deliveries made. It was a banner year for the freight movers... unfortunately, that means that some of the end users (you) will be a few days behind in what would be normal shipping windows.

As bprat also pointed out, you're shipping through 2 3-day weekends. This will also hold your shipment up, ever so briefly.

On the flip side, and I know this is no comfort to you, but all 3 of the big shippers are getting better and faster than even a year ago. The online parcel service has been growing exponentially for the last 5-7 years and they, actually, are doing a pretty good job of keeping up.

I personally received a package shipped East Coast to West in 4 days under the estimate. It was quite the surprise.

But enough about that... it will be there soon, and you'll enjoy it so much that the pain of waiting will fade very quickly. We all know.. We've all been there.

Thanks all for the positive thoughts.

I purposefully made no judgement about the duration to receive my pre-built PC. Simply stated the date/days.

The point of my post is to educate prospective customers on what they can expect.

As any consumer could find, there are very similar setups available for the same money that can be had in 2 days.

I chose DigitalStorm because I expect my long term experience to be more positive than I would expect from other options.

I do hope that should I require future warranty work, I won't face similar time frames as my initial purchase.
