How many monitors can a stock 970 support?

Now don't go flying off the handle just yet, I'm not planning on doing any high-end surround gaming with a 970. While I am planning on upgrading to a 980 (or a Titan X, depending on bonuses) I'd like to know if the stock 970 in the Vanquish 3 Lv 4 can do three screens for desktop multitasking, or for gaming, the game on the center monitor, internet windows on the left and right.

Is it possible, or will I have to look into a card upgrade?

It can run 4 monitors.    Depending on the version you get will determine what the monitor ports are. Usually, a couple of DVI, a Hdmi and couple of Displayports, so adapters are sometimes needed.

Alright, thanks. Not sure if I'm gonna have the cash to grab 3 monitors right away, but at least I can put off the 980 upgrade by a little bit now.
