Ok, not just for benchmakring but in... uh, you know, reality... There I said it, how many things can I do at once on a core [email protected]? I mean can I run on the internet, do a download behind that, I'm doing that one now. But can I run a game installation and run iTunes so I can jam (with my new $150- speakers that sound like my $1500- stereo) and also run a DVD write? I mean it shows up in Device Manager as 8 procs, right?
Oh, on the benchmarking and keeping performance data goes, is there something that can run in the backround that will tell me what was being used while I was running my game with every detail and enhancemen turned on? I have the eVga 3 SLI board (the name tells me it obvioulsy prefers Nvidia) and it has an led display I can see through the window that is supposedly telling me the cpu temp but do the temps really jump from 50c to 37c in a few seconds with L/C'ing?
Also, there's a post further down where someone asked what his max temp should be on an i7, I'm not sure there was a direct answer but I think it was 90c, is that correct?

oc speed = how fast you can do things

oc cores = multi tasking/some speed.

you are talking about multitasking, your oc speed does not change your multitasking abilities.

now an i7 which is what we recommended to you with 6GB of ram, can do lot of multitasking, some things you don't want to do at the same time tho.

burning dvds for example, for best burn quality, do this on its own, you can surf and stuff but nothing heavy.

you can install games, chat on your cam, have 30 tabs open in your browser, have photos open, listen to music, etc etc, like I told you, these pcs are beasts.

for temp reading use realtemp and HWMonitor

you want all of your temps to be below 85c max, but 80c max is preferred, if you are at or under 80c don't even think about your temps, of course the temps mentioned are temps under load (playing games for 30 min to an hour, when you put your pc under load, the temps will jump.
