I can open the glass side, but can't open the back side...

Should open the same way - by pushing the button on the upper corner of that side...

If it doesn't open then it's probably jammed and needs a little prying along the edge. Could have shifted during shipping or one of the brackets need a little tweaking once it's off.

Found it...but the interesting thing is that I don't need to push the button to open the glass side...

On the plus side, the panel comes off easy.  Hahaha
 
On the negative side, I wouldn't want it falling off unexpectedly.   I don't have that case, but I would check where the button hits a release to see if its stuck or needs adjustment.

LOL  I remember my fingertips having deep indentations after prying off the military grade, metal clamshell.    Even  broke a nail.  CryLOL
