Looking at a Bolt III build but curious what the difference is between the hydrolux offerings. On the Bolt III, you have Digital Storm HydroLux PRO. Was messing around with a HAILSTORM II build and saw it has H20: HydroLux PRO: Exotic Custom Cooling System. It appears that the H2O has quick disconnects and is possibly a custom loop as to where the Hydrolux Pro is a self contained loop. Am I correct in that assumption?

Hi bbq4tw.... The Bolt 3 Hydrolux is based on the Swiftech h220x modular cooling system, allowing for custom tube length , different rad sizes and adding components like the gpu. It's basically an all-in-one that can be customized.
The other builds like the Hailstorm use a fully custom water cooling for the Pro and the same setup as in the Bolt as the Lite. Alex can either confirm or correct any info. Hope this helps.

It looks like the high end Bolt 3 (level 4)build doesn't have a Hydrolux cooling option? Just curious why that is, be kind I'm still using a Dell XPS 720. :)

And it is available with the level 3 config, but you can't get hydrolux with a colored exterior? Curious as to those reasons too!

Here's a quote from Alex concerning your second question.....
QUOTE At this, those Anodized finishes don't work with the HydroLux Pro system as those are painted chassis that we have in-stock. HydroLux Pro requires additional mounting holes that these anodized cases do not have. In the next 2-3 weeks, we will have gloss painted versions of the chassis, and those will work with HydroLux Pro. QUOTEFor your first question, if i remeber correctly, they couldn't fit the necessary cpu cooling block to the X99 Haswell E builds. Not enough room. Alex should be by later. ![]() |
