I'm Ready

OK I have been lurking for quite some time deciding when the right time to buy would be.  The time is now.  My original digital storm is giving up the ghost.  It has been a great machine for me over the years and I wouldnt buy from anyone else.  I will pass my old DS on to my kids.
I have a 22 inch monitor with 1680x1050 resolution.  I will be upgrading next year to a 24 inch monitor.
Right now the i7 extreme 2 seems about right.  I just wanted to see if DS4me or anyone else could configure something better.  I mostly surf and game.  My old 8800's have been great cards for me.  Its time to go to the next level.  Thanks in advance.  My budget is around 2K but will go a bit higher if necessary.

when you say you will get a bigger monitor next year, do you mean in a couple of month or in 12?

I'm gonna give you what you need now, when you get the 24" monitor you need to add another 275 to the nvidia build or another 5850 to the ati build, by the time you buy your monitor, the prices on both of them are gonna be much lower too.
