To start, set your RAM divider to 2:8 1066MHz, timings to the ram's rated spec, and increase bclock by 10MHz and test it each time you increase with LinX until you reach about 170, then start increasing by 5MHz. When you are at 190, increase by 2-3 each time.

Start with 1.3000v cpu vcore, and +100mv cpu vtt.  Set your dimm voltage to what your ram is rated for.

Bluesceen codes:
0x00000101 - increase vcore
0x00000124 - increase vtt or vcore (you will have to test each one)
0x0000009c - increase vcore
0x0000000A - raise/lower vtt or dimm
0x00000050 - raise/lower dimm (usually, can also be vtt related)

justin.kerr is a much better overclocker than I am, so I am sure he can help you further.

You can take a look at this thread. The template is in here. I'm running 4.0ghz stable thanks to Justin Kerr. just be very careful, and let Justin guide you if he has the time. Thisis a good thread to get ready for overclocking since PRIME95 take a long time to make sure you are running stable.

I will second the recommendation to study the linked thread from police215 and to also recommend Justin's skill with overclocking.

Just checking if you've started this project and if so how is it going? If you have more questions or need more detail advise just speak up since a few of us here have been through the i7-920 OC process.

No I haven't started cause I don't think it is a good guide. SInce it is explaining through other webpages as well, makes it incredibly difficult to organize.

Do you still want to overclock this or do you want to wait to install the water cooling you just bought?

It is possible.  You can set your cpu multiplier to 20X, your Bclock to 200 and your memory ratio to 2:8.

Do you still have the same settings in BIOS from your earlier post?  Because if they are, I would not recommend making that big of a jump all at once.

Follow Venom's instructions below from his earlier post.

Do you have Linx and Prime95 stress tesing programs?  Do you have RealTemp to monitor temps with?

And as Venom stated, justin.kerr is a lot better overclocker than I am.  And if you have any more questions, feel free to ask and I will help you as best as I can.

run 24 hours of prime95 blend test.. LinX is not very good. Linx is good for quick V core tests, but bad at overall stability
