drop the noise reduction package is pointless, trap noise and you trap heat, and you don't want to trap heat.

change your mobo to evga 3x sli or the LE.

if you want xp support get win7 pro.

happy new years

I have checked newegg and other sites and the evga and the asus board in question have very close negative and positive ratings...since your logo is
EVGA I know where you stand....where do the DS tech people stand?

I don't care which board is best, I will go with whomever is right!

Cheers

the techs will tell you that evga has better support, which is one of the reasons why I like evga.

your mobo can only do dual sli, you know that right?

when reading stuff from newegg, be careful, you have to filter out the ones that complain about dead on arrival, cause that is not going to be an issue here, parts are tested before they are sent to us.

Yep, EVGA is better. As and example, if you go look on the Evga forums, the moderator for the X58 boards tells you how to overclock and shows you how he did his. You won't find that on the ASUS forum as overclocking voids thier warranty. You can plug in an Evga board wrong and fry it and they'll send you a new one. As long as you've registered it.
 Just a tidbit, the Classified boards have 4 times the amount of gold in them than any other brand. It doesn't really do anything but it's there.Ouch

To add, I know I'm new but did bou coup research and the EVGA had better stats, as well as the Web sites they maintained and forums at each.  Check out the E magazines at Well I think it was CNET, as well as others clearly a step or three better.  Not to mention Asus customer service.  See for yourself in the Storm drain on a lop top. (I know different product might have different results) but that really speaks volumes.  See similar situations at the etailers and other comment sites.  On and about Asus.  In any case it be your rig...just my three cents worth.
(Coolin as well would be better on the EVGA 3x &4x).  I do not work for or own (yet) anything from them.  I was just impressed with what I read/saw...

Ya lost me here Bill, I looked at the storm drain, didn't see any laptops. Don't know what else you're talking about. Are you saying you went with the ASUS rampage board instead of an EVGA??

@Brisleep,

No, don't know what happened maybe spring house cleaning.  They had an old customer who'd purchased an Asus laptop had some issue.  (all ASUS CS)... I reread my post, not sure where I lost you except the lack of back up on the storm drain.  Was for Pilgrim for informational purposes.  I am happy that I went with EVGA again that is from my perspective.  My unit is being built here with the EVGA 3x Classified.  I was using the Laptop experience to show the Customer Service (lack of ) at ASUS.  same same by other customers at other etailers.  I meant it in an effort to ecco your thoughts... (Bri)

I'd personally never go Asus ever again in my life, towards the end (Intel C2D early stages) I've had such bad experience with their boards and support, I ended up giving biostar a try for the t-power series. i'd rather go biostar over asus , thats how bad I think of asus now

I do have to say this.... The P6T is a pretty board. Nice blue anodized aluminum and colorful RAM slots red sata slots, very pretty board in a good tower with everything installed you'd never see that though. Smile
