extreme 2 is nice but keep in mind that the mobo is an x58M, which means that all you can fit on there are 2 gpus, you will have no other pci slot open nor can you do tri sli.

if you are fine with the above then extreme 2 is for you.

Got the email stating my computer is up to stage 4 today.

Kind of curious because i made the ASSUMPTION that the "Special Deals" where already assembled and that's how they met the estimated ship date on the purchase page.

Nothing wrong with that, i would much rather have it done right and wait a bit longer, just a curious note.

I also got the notice today....they are now in stage 5
i also agree, i dont mind to wait to ensure that i recieve a stable system
it would suck to recieve a system that is unstable
i will keep you updated!!

Can you elaborate on this?  I was also looking at the extreme 2 then I read this, and I'm not exactly sure what it means other than it looks like you won't be able to upgrade?  What would an alternative be?

x58M is a micro mobo, which means that it has only 2 pci slots, so that means that the 2 gpus take those slots, should you want a sound card, wireless card, tv card, any kind of card or if you need more gpu power and want to go tri sli you can not.

I just got the email stating my computer is QC passed.  Just have to wait on shipping and how long it will take to come half way across the country.

Processor Temperatures

Idle: 35C
Overnight Load: 77C
Important Notice: Overclocked systems will definitely run hotter than stock units. Your unit has been tested to be fully stable in our stress-test facility at these temperatures.

Overclocked Processor Settings

Processor Speed GHz: 3.75
CPU Multiplier: 20
Voltage CPU VCore: 1.3
VDroop Control: No
i7 - BCLK MHz: 179
i7 - Voltage QPI\DRAM: auto
i7 - Voltage QPI\PLL: auto
i7 - Voltage CPU VTT: 150
i7 - Voltage IOH Vcore: auto
i7 - Voltage ICH Vcore: auto
i7 - Voltage IOH/ICH I/O: auto
i7 - PWM Frequency: auto
780i/790i - Memory Clock Mode:
780i/790i - CPU FSB MHz:
780i/790i - Voltage FSB:
780i/790i - Voltage SPP:
780i/790i - Voltage MCP:

Overclocked Video Card Settings

Core MHz: 675
Memory MHz: 1245
Shader MHz: 1518

Motherboard BIOS: S817
Video Card Driver: 190.62
Chipset Driver: CD
Sound Card Driver: CD

Decent load temp.  I'm debating turning off the OC on the video cards once I receive it.  Running at 1900x1080 I don't see the value added on an SLI machine.  I'm assuming you do that from the NVidia control panel.  Never have had an OC system before, so will be a learning experience.

your system will come with evga precision, you will need to set the gpus settings to default in there to remove the oc, and you are right, you will get nothing but extra heat from the oced gpus.

good temp and oc
