I just ordered my first PC from DS and I’m super excited for it. I grew up being a PC player and then switched to console for majority of my life. With all the console wars going on I decided I wanted to give PC gaming a try again because you get the best of both worlds from XBOX and PlayStation games going to PC ports nowadays. I’ve always wanted to play with the best performances but don’t know too much about PC components. Thankfully through DS, I am able to do that and I can’t wait! If you see this message, thank you for doing what you guys do DS :)

Nice! 3080 is the only way to go if you invest in that much already haha. That’s what I’m hoping for many years to come. I have not thought about it yet. Do you have any recommendations? I still need to get a display, keyboard, and mouse. |

Yea the 3080 is just way too much of a beast not to have lol. was gonna get a 3090 but after seeing the benchmarks ill pass lol. I recently just bought a new monitor the lg gn850 1440p ips panel 144hz. This one is 1440p because i like high framerate vs 4k. They do make a 4k monitor the lg gn950 with the same specs. Either is a great choice and one of the best monitors on the market right now! the colors of this LG panel are a night and day difference from my old monitor. as far as keyboard and mouse go its pretty much personal preference but I like razer products.

I will second Razer on most of your peripherals.
I am just not sold on 4k gaming, maybe it is just me. My analogy comes from my 4k TV experience. When I compare a blu-ray picture to a 4k movie, I see a little better picture. Seems most of the extra data space on the 4k disc is put into the sound quality using DTS-X or Master Audio OR Dolby Atmos. In gaming, my 1440 monitor is beautiful in graphics, but much of that has to do with how the game designer made the game AND the settings you play at. For me, even without seeing the difference personally, 4k gaming puts too much of a hit on performance for not much gain AND at a higher cost to get in to 4k. Just my thoughts and I could be wrong. Well guys, I agree too! IMHO, the typical size of a gaming mon is just too small to do much justice to a 4K picture. The considerable extra cost it takes to run well at 4k is just not worth the smallish gain.
I fear even the 3080 will disappoint some as far as frame rates in some games, and the higher framerate 4k monitors can be very pricy. It's pretty well established that higher frame rates do more visually than screen resolution from all I've seen.

Hi Cretae, I’m looking into getting dual monitors. By any chance do you know if an rtx 3080 would be able to manage these monitors? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-ultragear-27-ips-led-fhd-freesync-monitor-black/6357418.p?skuId=6357418 This LG as my main. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-vg279q-27-ips-led-fhd-freesync-monitor-black/6336778.p?skuId=6336778 And the Asus as my secondary. I read that dual monitors can strain your GPU so I’m a little worried about that issue. |

The 3080 is overpowered for these monitors, so you have no worries at all. Running two 1080p monitors isn't even all that difficult for the GTX cards, let alone any RTXs. The deal is, you can't really do work/game with different images at the same time, so one is just showing a static image while your attention is on the other. Not all that taxing for modern GPUs. If you extend the game image to two monitors at once, it increases the pixel count the GPU has to output, but it's still just one image to the card. A 3080 would crush these demands at 1440p IMHO.

I have that LG monitor and let me tell you it won't dissapoint. Colors are so vivid and the 144hz refresh rate makes it butter smooth. My rtx 3080 kills any game at this resolution usually 150fps and above so it'll be a great experience!

Okay good I’m glad to hear that. Sometimes I may just open Discord while playing a game or maybe play music/YouTube with the other monitor while playing a game but nothing too insane. Im so glad I choose the 3080 instead of the stock 1650 lol. |
