Well I made the plunge a few minutes ago, so we'll see how this goes.  I'm using my new DS primarily for HD video editing and rendering.  I do freelance work on the side for some magazines, including an online ezine. 
 
My HP couldn't keep up and my productivity was pathetic, so I got this DS to hopefully speed things up considerably:

Nice choice, the 6 core 3930k chip with its quad channel memory board for your editing needs.

Congrats.Cool  You will see a big improvement with that rig.  I would have gotten a bigger SSD so you could put your apps on it then save the data to the HDD.  But, that is just me. Big%20Smile

That's a nice build sir!   I'm very happy with my 3930 on the X79 Sabertooth mobo.... Should put your video editing workflow back up on top..    DS builds them right.

What size monitor(s) do you think you would want?   
I have used Dell Ultrasharp 16 x 10 format displays for the last decade and I always recommend them, as do many here in the forums. Currently I am using (3) Dell U2412m e-IPS 1920 x 1200 LED backlit displays ($319 on newegg)   Love them... Looking at 24-27 inch monitors.  I'd like to have a decent size work space.
 
And though not a pc gamer (XBOX), I will probably have to try a game or two on it just because.

I picked up an Auria EQ276W at Micro Center to accompany my new rig. Aside from the minor problem of having to use a VGA cable with a DVI adapter to display BIOS and POST screens, I am very impressed with it. The screen is stunning, comparable to what's being used in the Dells and other name brands for half the price. (I got an open box unit that appeared to be brand new for $329. Full retail is $399.)
