Hahahaha, amateurs! LOL

All that means is that she's about buy herself something you are absolutely against and will use your bleeding edge CPU as justification.

At least you can console yourself by playing Crisis at 1920 x 1200 on high settings!
...the first hundred years are the hardest

I'm running Avast on two pc's and it's been working great for freeware. I loaded it on my old XP system for a while to test it out before loading it on my new DS pc.

It even found 2 viruses on the old pc that the Norton did not and it's much less of a resource hog than Norton. Norton really slowed my system down. Avast does not.

Wow! Lucky you! Nice rig... nice wife! LOL
I've used Grisoft AVG for years and it's done nicely. I still have to use an anti-spyware tho. I hope you get your pc up and running right off. Good luck!

Seeing all these killer rigs makes me sad that I'm broke LOL! I'm lucky that I haven't taken to 1st person shooters... yetConfused

I run Nod32. Newegg is selling the ESET security suite for $20 less than ESET's own site right now. It's lightweight, and knock on wood, no virus or spyware infections yet. I've previously used Norton Pro, McAfee, Zone Alarm Security Suite, and AVG. ESET is far and away the least obtrusive security product I have used to date. If it were not for the blue tray icon, I would not know it was running. Well, well worth the ~$50 I spent on the all in one solution, but they do offer the Nod32 AV as a stand alone product as well.

i use AVG, and i pretty only use it as an alarm system, cuz thats about all itll do so far. i then use spybot and adaware and whatever else to clean up the actual mess, haha. i dont typically have the money to drop on a decent solution like tylers, so im stuck with oddball medleys of freeware- and that in turn causes me to suggest that tylers recommendation is probably best.
