Erk... Big%20smile

Is it possible to upgrade from Vista Home Premium x64 to Windows 7 Pro x64 using the student upgrade option? Because I already bought the Pro upgrade. Dead

I don't believe so, you can do fresh install of win7 pro but you can't upgrade a home premium to vista to win7 pro.

I'm not a 100% sure but I'm 90% sure.

Well... I mean can I use the 'upgrade' DVD and do a fresh, custom install?

I thought the ranking of SKUs was :

    Basic < Premium < Professional < Ultimate

So if you had a Vista ranking lower than the corresponding Win 7 ranking, the upgrade would be allowed.

So going from Vista Premium to Win 7 Professional would be allowed but going from Vista Professional to Win 7 Premium would not.
