Hi everyone,
I've been trolling the configuration section for a few months and would have ordered my computer from DS by now but, I am struggling with what case I want. I know DS is going to recommend the Half X case and based on all the other comments I read this is an amazing gaming case. However, in my opinion it’s unattractive and way too big for me. I plan to use the computer for gaming on a single monitor, work, and basic internet browsing. So with that said. Will DS consider building my computer in one of these cases (Cubitek EATX ICE or Lian Li PC-V750WX) ETA end of May or first of June. I am leaning towards the Lian Li case. Lian Li PC-V750WX: http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product/product06.php?pr_index=612&cl_index=1&sc_index=0&ss_index=0&g=spec http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGTPIe2JRmw Cubitek: http://www.cubitek.com/products/ice-series/eatx-ice Just to point out, I don’t care about noise and any CPU overclocking would be great but I will settle for no overclocking. I would rather have air cooling but, I will go with whatever cooling recommended by DS. My Budget is ~3400$ including the cost of the case. I have a 2550X1440 monitor, keyboard and external speakers already. Please let me know if this is a realistic build for each case mentioned above. Any comments or recommendations would be appreciated. I used the Dreadnought LEVEL 2 as my template. I understand that you really want it to look sexy, but trying to pack in a higher end system into a smaller, more eye pleasing case is quite detrimental to your potential preformance. It may be better to get the larger, more ventilated case and place it in a location where it won't be as noticeable.

Hi yanna......Welcome to the forums.
That build is great, right on. For the monitor you'll max out most gaming. Sirus is giving you some great advice. The case is important and it's primary function is keeping the parts cool. But I do understand not everyone wants the HafX. It is the best, so your call. DS will use pretty much any case, sometimes ordering what you want for a fee or having you order and send to them. They'll give you a definitive answer. Whatever case you pick, the bigger the fans usually the more quiet and a case with a top and/or side panel fan is important especially for a multi-gpu rig. I would go with the HafX but ...... As-is, you have put together a great rig. Good Luck and keep us updated. Edited by bprat22 - 11 May 2012 at 5:57am |
