If I decide to upgrade my CPU, I have a I5 can I upgrade to I7 without changing the motherboard?

As long as they are both from the same generation of CPU, you won't have any problem. If you are stepping up a gen, you will have to check for compatibility. Intel most recently has allowed the same slot for two releases in a row, but it's not been entirely consistent.
