i7 920 and crossfire 4890?

I was looking at rigs on youtube and fell in love with the ati 4890 in crossfire, the graphics were amazing on a 1920x1080 monitor.

My question is can I go i7 with crossfire or is this a amd only card,because I heard AMD Phenom II X4 955<I7 920 with overclock by a long shot.

can anyone confirm?

First off, yes.. you can crossfire 4890's on an i7 build. Generally recommendations say to use the nvidia 275's, not for the old "nvidia+intel or else" adage, more for the heat. The 4890 runs a little hotter and ATI's driver updates lately have been a wishywashy.

Second, the i7 920 is an awesome processors for the price. Easily the best option out here hands down for affordability and value. The phenom is a good processor but the 920 is a better option in the long run.
 
I'm sure others will chime in on this, probably as i'm typing this. :P

Aye...they persuaded me to go with the 275's as well! I am sure I will be extremely happy with them.
