My computer just made it stage 7. I'm a little curious about the listing. Some of the information seems kind of high, more so than normal from what I've seen with other people's computer overclocks.
Processor Temperatures Idle: 24C Overnight Load: 76C Important Notice: Overclocked systems will definitely run hotter than stock units. Your unit has been tested to be fully stable in our stress-test facility at these temperatures. Overclocked Processor Settings Processor Speed GHz: 3.8 CPU Multiplier: 20 Voltage CPU VCore: 1.425 VDroop Control: Yes i7 - BCLK MHz: 181 i7 - Voltage QPI\DRAM: auto i7 - Voltage QPI\PLL: 1.25 i7 - Voltage CPU VTT: 150 i7 - Voltage IOH Vcore: 1.35 i7 - Voltage ICH Vcore: auto i7 - Voltage IOH/ICH I/O: auto i7 - PWM Frequency: 800 780i/790i - Memory Clock Mode: 780i/790i - CPU FSB MHz: 780i/790i - Voltage FSB: 780i/790i - Voltage SPP: 780i/790i - Voltage MCP: Motherboard BIOS: S610V Video Card Driver: 190.62 Chipset Driver: CD Sound Card Driver: CD Is the vcore at 1.425 safe? Will the rest of the overclock information cause problems down the road? Or are these safe? |

Oh ok so all the info is ok for my system right? Should I keep hyper threading on or just stick with what is there? Thank you for the reassurance and help.

I got 3.59 for my I7 920 overclock and was very happy. I think you will be extra pleased with the 3.8 OC. Sounds like you have a nice system headed your way. You will really enjoy what a true gaming machine is like once it arrives.

Mine just came out of stage 7 and here is what I got....
Idle: 34C
Overnight Load: 80C Important Notice: Overclocked systems will definitely run hotter than stock units. Your unit has been tested to be fully stable in our stress-test facility at these temperatures. This is an i7 920 with stage 3 frostbite cooling and 275's in sLI also liquid cooled. Oh my OC was 3.808 which I am very happy with

Thanks Venom
I decided to go conservative and asked Randy to turn it down a bit and get whatever they can without having to up the core voltage. If I can get anything between 3.2 to 3.5 ghz that way I'll be very happy. I'm upgrading here from a 5 year old Dell xps with a Pentium 4 so even the stock i7 920 would seem like a miracle. And if you consider the price of an i7 975 at 3.3 ghz at around $1000, the overclocked 920 is a super bargain. Thanks for the input though. I love this forum. |
