I just got my computer today right before I walked out the door for work, and only had time to boot it up, adjust the screen resolution and then shut it down.

What do you guys think is the first thing I should with it?

You probably shouldnt be posting pictures of yourself doing horrible things, Ed. Besides which, Ive done it, and was diagnosed as tasty + nutritious. While his hippie diagnostic naming schemes did not please me, his medical equipment did, and thats good enough.

By the way, the system is enormous. Im thinking about putting a cushion on top and using it as a super-chair. Good idea?

1) Check the System information and system list to make sure everything is working correctly and/or the correct thing you ordered.

2) Get a new wallpaper for the background.

3) benchmark if you have the goods.

4) Install something you like to play.

5) Play.

6) Install a messenger you like.

7) Message.

8) Go to bed.

Before you go to bed, run defrag.  After I got my computer it really needed to be run.

Otherwise, I'd tweak the services running to only run what you need.  Install Antivirus software and Spybot.  Check that your vid card drivers are up to date, and run Windows Update.

Dudes!  You're forgetting the biggest "first thing" to do.  Throw a house-warming party for it!

With plastic gloves.  Otherwise you'll get a buzz *two* different ways.

Or was that the point?
