So, I have some more financial wiggle-room now, and I decided to get a little ambitious.  Still haven't purchased.

What do you guys think about this:

For a purely gaming system you don't need the extreme platform. Assuming you want to stick with the Aventum case I went with this: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/comploadaventumii.asp?id=914997

I put the Sabertooth motherboard, with the i7-4770k and a 256GB SDD. If you would like to go with a ROG board for the additional features, the Formula would be a better fit for the system, and has improved audio over either; That would need to be a special order item, since DS doesn't carry it.

If you are willing to step down to the Hailstorm II case: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/comploadhailstormii.asp?id=915001%20

If you are going for that monitor you may want to ask them for the G-Sync version.

Other options, with a single graphics card build, are the Bolt or Virtue builds for smaller cases.

To help anyone else that would like to comment, this is the old thread: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/having-trouble-customizing-a-new-pc-tidf21698/

I agree with danjw1. The Extreme CPUs are overkill for just a gaming rig - spend that money elsewhere or keep it in your pocket. The various builds already recommended are great choices and the G-Sync monitor is worth the extra $$ and will provide more value than a 6-core CPU. I'd opt for the Hailstorm II setup given above...
HailStorm II
i7 4770K @ 4.5GHz
Asus Maximus VI Extreme
16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum
3xSLI EVGA SuperClocked GTX TITAN
Samsung 840Pro SSD 256GB+512GB
HydroLux+XSPC CPU/MoBo/GPU Liquid Cooling

Well, that was even more ambitious than previously thought.  That Hailstorm does look pretty damn good.  Once again, thanks guys!
