Nah, Americans are more cowardly then ever, that flag would be like open face lying, kinda like the way communist countries always seem to put the word democratic within their countries name.

New flag should be get me a big mac or ill sue you. Or how about I hate gas prices, but dont you dare drill for oil. Oh heres a better one...The Consitution is a living document.

Bleh so negative..haha..but ive learned to hate the American people, and especially the people they vote for.

Hah, Sunfighter... you made my day today. How bout our flag just reads "You name the problem we got an excuse"

The best thing I've heard in a few years is this lil story that sums us up pretty well....

A Kid is always getting in trouble at school so they bring him into the principal and ask why are you always screwing up.. He replies "well my dads an alcoholic"

His dad gets called into the boss's office at work that same day about his drinking problem and the boss asks why do you drink so much... He replies "because my sons a screw up"

The United States, a great country that I love yet we have forgotten how to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and what taking responsibility means.

There are a million people with at least twice that many excuses, all I have to say is, any country is what you make of it. If you blame your woes on anyone else, the issue is as much your problem as whomever you are blaming.

Do i ever love stiring people up hahaha....

Im American, i was born in Indiana. I never said the country was bad (though its getting there) I said the people were. The American people are what screwed the country be it via complacency in lifestyle or pure ignorance. My loyalties lie in the original consitution. All the troubles this nation faces is due to the american peoples own actions. So my additude is more towards, you get what you deserve.

Thats why my senior thesis in College was titled America: The Suicidal Empire. It focused on how Americans are destroying their own country and culture, and doing it of their own free will. Then have the ego to complain about it when its their own fault. Its pure american arrogance.

God I hope Sunfighter isnt a poli sci major too. Alexis de Tocqueville had alot of insight on our country and predicted whats happening now in Democracy in America. And yes we have lost most of our founding fathers beliefs and intentions.

The problem is government eventually corrupts over time via constant expansion of powers.

My views are very radical I know..haha.. Im actually a member of United North America.

The US shouldnt even exist really, it should be a unity of various independent states loosely formed in a coalition of mutal defense and economic considerations. There is no reason why it should not accept new members such as regions of Canada and eventually the rest of the world completely based on reigional indepenence and personal freedom.

I think the US Civil War put to rest any consideration of a loosely bound set of independent states. I can't help but think that the society we think we are destroying never really existed in the first place. The US is a young nation. When was this supposed culture that is disappearing ever stable?

When this nation was born, our Founding Fathers spoke of freedom, yet owned slaves. "We hold these truths to be self evident: that all men are created equal, and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness". I love these words, they form the most beautiful, perfect sentence I have ever read in the English language. However, this presents quite the paradox, does it not?

The generations since our founding have paid, in blood and with the fullest measure of devotion to Liberty to realize some truth to the idealistic rhetoric of our Founding Fathers. Some have died in wars, others fighting for civil justice. Always more have answered the call of Freedom despite the personal risks and sacrifices that would be required. Rather than doom and gloom, I see hope. Hope that both men and women of all colors and creeds can have an equal share in the American Dream. It is perhaps less fashionable in today's world to show a little idealism than to be a cynic. I have never been much for fashion anyway. Wink

A belated Happy Birthday America.
