Hi All; My hard drive is failing and needs to be replaced. I have a backup of all the data & I have done a "cloning" of the drive to an external backup drive (us AcrnoisTrue Image. My question is: after I install the new hd, remove the old dying hd,using the "clone" program to move the files etc from the backup to the new hd, will I be able to boot from the new hd or will I have to do a Windows reinstall first? Thanks for your help. .

Well you didn't specify, is the hdd that is dying the os hdd? if yes and you have cloned it using my guide to an external,


in that case the once you clone the external to the new hdd, you should be able to boot in to windows on new cloned hdd.
