    Posted: 20 May 2009 at 4:01pm
My DS system has been sitting in its box for the last week but tonight I get to set it all up and I am about as excited as any "mature" guy with a wife and kids can be at owning a new gaming computer.

Any last-minute tips?  I seem to recall somebody posting something about not disconnecting a panel that looks like it needs to be disconnected (and re-connected) on unpacking.

I'm hoping it all goes well.  I'm going to need to get Vista to recognize my home wireless network (Earthlink tells me it will...) and it will be interesting to see if there are Vista drivers available for my 3 - 4 year-old printer and scanner.  Lots of data to transfer from an external HD.  The gaming stuff I'll do tomorrow (setting up CH HOTAS, TrackIR, Racing wheel/pedals and games software).

Here are my specs.  As I say, all tips and tricks for installation welcome!

there are just two panels on a haf case, front and back, the one with the window needs to be taken off just be careful not to unplug the fan or if you have to just note where the power connector for the side fan is. The other panel doesnt need to be taken off as it's just there for rear access when wiring up the computer. Just be sure to get all the foam out then start her up and have a blast.

Ha, yeah well I'm one of those guys who knows enough to get himself in trouble but not enough to get himself out of it so I like to have a more capable IT pro to drop by, eat pizza and look over my shoulder.  He hasn't been available until now!

Well, since you've been told about the fan connector on the side panel, the only other advice I could give is...
