Long story short my room is below my parents bathroom Dad left sink running over night while i was away on vacation. Flooded bathroom and poured through the ceiling right into my pc and surge protector frying everything.(I have the HAFx-492 Dreadnought case so it poured right through the top fans).

Has anyone ever had to deal with insurance for a claim on the pc? The build is over a year old and most the parts unavailable anymore just wondering what people have done in this situation

You mean through home owners insurance? Or did you have an insurance policy on the computer itself?

I had my house burn down recently, so I have a bit of knowledge on this type of stuff. Your home insurance "should" cover the cost of the rig based on how much it was when you built it, if your policy covers it at all. That's how it works for State Farm at least, not 100% for other companies.

Each policy is different. There is a deductible and you may need a copy of the receipt. Some policy's are written for replacement, others for deprecated value. Contact your broker who should be able to let you know where you stand. BTW insurance companies are generally evil. Evil
