I just heard from DS Sales that there has been a logistics problem at Intel and that the i9 9900K chip that I built my configuration around is in short supply. Apparently DS is telling customers that either they will have to wait a couple of weeks or change to AMD. I have no experience with AMD chips and it's not even an option on my configuration page (all the choices are Intel) so what do you think? Is the best thing to wait? Can they really build this system around another chip (and would it be worth it?) or will I have to start the whole process over? I ordered this system yesterday, so I am not thrilled to hear about this.

I heard from DS CustSvc that they are expecting a shipment of those CPUs tomorrow (Wed). Hopefully that will get our systems off of hold.

Hopefully. How long has yours been on hold? I get the impression there has been quite a logjam.

Ordered on 11/13: fairly simple system in Slade 2 case, no graphics card (as a number-cruncher). I guess we wait a few days to see if they advance thru stages.

My order has been in Stage 1 for over a week now. I have a slightly ominous feeling about this.

Wait, not so fast, it just went from Stage 1 to 2 to 3 so all is well. I hope you others are seeing some movement too.
