intel has recalled some of their chipsets that run sandy bridge because it degrades teh stat ports over time (2 to 4 years) so, if your hdd has gotten slower and slower after upgradign to sandy, this is why.
i wondered what was up becasue intels stock droped like 30 or 40 cents and amds went up the same ammount. aperently some one has some investments saved up and switched over!!!
thsi could not come at a worse time. bulldozer, nvidia....every one hates intel right now (well, us smart people do )
jsut do a google of "intel recall 2011" things pop up.....
this hits servers probly the hardest, as a server needs to run fast for years.
hopefully DS has been notifyed and DS has notifyed customers with the intel chipsets affected so tehy can refund/replace the defective hardware.
jsut letting you know!

this only effects sata 2.0 and not 3.0.
I'm not sure that any server chips are out yet. |

who uses sata 3.0?????? sure its faster and nicer. i think i have a stat 3.0 drive on my stat 2.0 mobo. it haulls some major byte!
most desktops either have 2.0 or a mix of 2.0 and 3.0.
or like me and 2.0 and IDE and PATA cables that are still in use!
still, thsi recall mabe intels stock go down a certain % and amds rise the same %.
its going to cost them 300 million to 700 million to fix. i wish i had that mutch money to srugg off like is change for the poor! i thin k should take my troll-ship to teh next level and buy stock in AMD. and you cna invest in intel. either or, its a good idea!

you remind me of really annoying apple fanboys but for amd.. still as annoying. honestly i don't mind intel is making the recall because i'm just glad they are fixing the problem they found instead of letting us figure it out a few years later.

who uses SATA 3? most all new builds for one. AMD's new chipset is all SATA 3 also you goofy mofo. lol SATA 3 is backwards compatible.
I have had SATA 3 for 2 years now.

apple fans are expontiualy mroe anoying then i am! lol.
and yes, intel made the recall with speed and fairness. its simply.....f**king amazing!
thats a good PR team behind that. but, intel did make a mistake, and their stock did drop which makes me lol for soem reason. amds is now jsut above 8 bucks. it was jsut above 7 when this happened.
if they would have waited 3 years then todl everyone they were in a hole..... AMD would TROLL on it and mostlikyl take some of intels fan base. intel (to a AMD fan) is greedy. all companys are however, even AMD.
offering free returns for money back, or replacment mobos is, liek i said, great damage control.
