Topic: Intel SSD 320 vs. 520 Posted: 16 Feb 2012 at 2:26pm |
I was remaking my build today when I noticed that the 160GB Intel 320 SSD is no longer available. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Intel 520 180GB and the Sandforce drivers they use. I know there has been some issues with Sandforce and other manufacturers but I have not seen anything about the 520's yet.
If anything I don't want to go below the 160GB range but I also don't want to sacrifice the speed and reliability of the 320. Any suggestions? |

It'd be nice if DST would come out of hiding, he typically is up to date on stuff like this. From what I remember him saying last is the 520 series will be replacing the 320 series and will be the SSD of choice.
There were performance issues that made the 320 better then the 510 series but from what I understand the 520 should be the way to go. Since the 320 is being phased out it's probably getting expensive to keep in stock. |

Hi Kael,
I don't know anything about the 520 but you can still get the Intel 160Gb 320 SSD from Newegg and Amazon. You can order one and send it to DS. Or, you can ask them to order one for you. You could also buy one and install it yourself after you receive the computer. Frank |
