Just when I thought I could almost get my hands on crossfired 4870's with a real intel motherboard... it's gone even from the 950 menu...
bug, feature, or temporary glitch? Also, has anyone actually used the new non creative soundcards? I hate creative, but they are the devil I know.... Dave <--- sleep deprived from new baby) |

just pick the "budget" build, grab the rampage and build up
this config limit is a real hassle

Hmmm. thanks ender for getting the MB selection back for me.
regrettably the memory selections are now wrong at least from my dream pc perspective.... the x48 chipset takes ddr3 memory right? what is the benefit of "dual loop" liquid cooling over the regular frostbite? Is it much higher maintenance? Given I get nervous installing memory it is likely to be too complicated for me? are the 4870's likely to need liquid or can I go cpu only? And finally, is the antec 900 adequate for (liquid cooling) space? I know I'm supposed to get the 850 if I go air, do I need the 950 for liquid? Thanks for all replies, Dave |

nothing on that config page "needs" liquid cooling, im honestly a little against the whole idea of it
there isnt too much in the maintenance area for cooling or RAM, as i understand it, you need to swap out the liquid every now and then, but thats all. as far as memory installing it is like putting a battery in a phone, and theres no upkeep.
antec may be able to house liquid cooling but you'd be better off stepping up to at least a 850 if you are planning to have liquid installed
