I plan on buying a new computer this Christmas ( yes i know this is a long time away ) because my old gaming computer i built broke. I dont have a budget that is very high ( maybe $1200 max! ) and i was wondering wat kind of configuration if any would be fit for me and also if theres going to be any price cuts around the christmas time period that will put the price below 1000 with good a good config?

$1200 is right on the cusp of being able to put a build together. what resolution is your montior?

GRRRRR i wish people would stop asking that rediculous question
he has a budget of 1000, what difference would it make how he answered that?
 
jvon we have a pretty similar thread up right now, i think its in the general section for some reason, but really, this is about the lowest i could reccomend going, otherwise, you just need to save some more, going much below this would really just have you wasting money to start out even MORE behind the curve
 
this is $1174
 
and even the very first option, case, is a good example of how trying to buy low costs you more than helps you.
going up to a HAF case would only be $14 more, and its a far better case, but there are options like this all through the build that are very cost effective increases, which is why its not a bad idea to wait until you can get closer to 1400ish
