Additionally, do they deliver over the weekend–whatever mail carrier is in use?

It would be one hell of a drag missing my delivery after waiting so long.

Really going to depend on the carrier. Given the price, you most likely will need to sign. Whether or not that carrier delivers on the weekend, you will have to verify.

The fedex thing I got when mine shipped yesterday said that it had to be signed for in person. "Direct Signature Required" was the verbiage on the tracking notice.

I just figured they use the same carrier every time.

Hmm, gotcha.

Anyone here ever tried doing one of those "pre-sign" forms with Fedex, if they even still offer that?

Maybe they mix it up if you chose ground, etc. based on price at the time? Someone prob knows and will straighten us out eventually. Mine shipped fedex ground and it looks like it'll take just under a week to get here (east coast).

I haven't done that, but I have logged into my fedex account and rerouted stuff to a Fedex location and then picked it up. Those are open pretty late around me (8 pm or so I think) and they will just hold it there for you until you get there. Edit - just checked and some of the locations are open until 10 pm.

No prob...it still won't keep them from destroying it though. I had a 100 lb subwoofer that I had them hold at the local Fedex office and when I went in to pick it up it looked like they drove a fork lift blade through the box.

Thanks Wolf!!

Feels strange knowing that my PC is right around the corner. My excitement took a lot of turns. It'll probably arrive and I still won't believe it's in my hands, lol. Like some desert mirage.

I'm sure it'll be everything I hoped for.

Yikes!

Man, if there was a way to pay for those wooden crates they send to press, I would probably have paid for it. Can't put a price on protection, especially on a multi-thousand dollar rig.

Dunno if this helps anybody else or might have the opposite effect and scare the heck out of people, but the Fedex dude just plopped mine down on my front porch and left. I was home so it wasn't a big deal, but they might not be requiring actual signatures due to COVID so this might not be an issue for some people.

My person required a signature. I guess they're supposed to. Glad nothing wrong happened with your PC.

How are you liking it?

Mine is blazing fast, but I guess that's also part of my problem. I have a Bolt X, full water cooling on the CPU, but I'm still running into thermal issues on my 5800X. They're sending me an acrylic panel with vent holes drilled into it to help it breathe, all free of charge because they're cool like that.

I'm looking into adding a fan at the bottom. Overall, it doesn't seem to move that much air with its tight space and fans only on top.

What kind of temps are you seeing? Maybe we can compare notes.

I'm remembering off the top of my head since I'm away at the moment, but with cinebench, around 80C. Weirdly enough, even though gaming doesn't throw my CPU into max load like cinebench does, the thermals on the CPU get even higher than 80C at times. Have gotten 84, 85C. I guess the GPU at max load combined with the CPU at 30-40% load in some games is causing the overall temps within the chassis to get too warm. Been getting random reboots after 12 minutes of maxed out gameplay on Forza and Cyberpunk.

You are way ahead of me so no point comparing until I get with the program. I've only just finished reinstalling everything I need for work, setting up drive partitions, finalizing my desk setup, cabling, etc. I haven't even installed a single game yet so haven't pushed it at all. I'm only seeing around 46-59C at the CPU doing normal stuff (working, playing music, etc.).
