I am gearing up for AoC and this is what I have come up with. #133287.

Please let me know what you think. I will be ordering tomorrow.

Should I ask for more fans? Is this to much case for this PC? Is 550w enough? I want to play AoC on high settings. I really don't mind spending more money if you have any ideas.

I have a 19" LCD monitor and I will NEVER upgrade this PC. I buy new ones every 2 years.

Thanks a bunch for your input as well as your knowledge.

If it was me, I'd:
  1. Step up the PSU to 620W. It may not be necessary, but a little extra juice never hurts
  2. Get rid of one of the optical drives unless you do a lot of disc copying
  3. In addition to the HD you've got, add a 160 Gig drive for just your OS and general purpose applications. Use the 320 Gig for games and data
  4. I love the big cases (850si & 950si), but if you can't get away with using a 750si for this config then nobody can.
  5. Sure, toss in an extra fan

So Bill, the point of installing the softwares on seperate drives is performance, right? that way all of the programs installed are that much closer to the beginning of thier respective drives', and the response time is therefore better?

i got mine configured with two seperate drives, one for data and one for OS plus wares, but will do what you have suggested if this is the case. i just need clarification.

I always thought it was because if your OS becomes corrupted and requires a total reinstall, you dont lose any of your other data.

Thats always nice as well, but it still wouldnt help the games themselves as the registry is held on the root drive. Unless its a game that utilized ini files instead of the registry or something to that effect. Or you backup the registry before uninstallation. But thats not hard, so yeah, thats a good point, haha.

Be nice if you gain a mighty fine performance benefit too though, eh?
