Anyone know a way to possibly partition a USB Flash Disk?

I've had a nice little USB watch lying around waiting for some good use, yes, USB watch, you read that right. 8GB of speedy read time, and I'm barely using it. So I decided to see if can install some Linux variants onto it, hoping that I could partition it into two halves, one for files, one for Linux, just to keep my head straight. Unfortunately, I can't find anything to do this correctly that will be visible to any Windows system. I'm sure there's a way to do it, hey, how else does Sandisk get U3 onto their drives?! Anyone got any ideas?

(Tried tools that help recognize the drive as a local HDD. Either doesn't work, or end result will not work with computers universally)
