To check how fast your memory is on Vista.  I tried looking everywhere for it on the control panel and on the computer icon.  All i could find is that it said you have 6 gigs.  I want to know how fast it is.  I ordered 1333 and when i turned it on today i saw something say DDR3 1066.  I am hoping its not that.  Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Ramdurand to give you a better OC they may need to lower ram ratio to achieve higher OC, ram speed makes very little difference which is why I recommended the 1333MHz rather then 1600Mhz to you originally.

having said that, if this was during boot-up, then disregard its false.

last if you want to see what ram you got run CPU-z and look under "spd" tab and tell me what is the "max bandwidth" listed there.

On Evga motherboards, during boot up, instead of showing actual memory speed, it will show the default b-Clock x the Ram multi. It is very misleading. lol

Like DST said, get cpuz and look at the memory tab, and take what it says and multiply x 2.

That will not show the actual speed though.

do you mean what is the ram speed running at or what is the stock speed of ram at the time of purchase?

stock speed at the time of purchase looks to be 2000MHz

I was going by your         "if you want to see what ram you got run CPU-z and look under "spd" tab and tell me what is the "max bandwidth" listed there."  Idea.

DSO might have changed the OP also. lol Just trying to point out that that way can be inaccurate because of what cpuz reports. Some ram reports off there.

you are correct, however if you told me you bought 2000MHz ram and then reported your max bandwidth at 10700, it would be obvious that your am is not reported correctly and we need a screen shot of spd and memory tab, no arguements there.
