I do not see a system like this offered by DS so I am assuming it is a different company.
I think I found the company you are looking at and I have never heard of them. They might be a good company, but since this is a forum for DS we can not really discuss other companies products anyway. In general I would not buy a system with a GTX 970 paired with a i7 5820k cpu. I might just tell us what you are looking to do with your computer and how much you want to spend so people can point you to some DS systems that might work for you. Hi fruhlinginparis.....The build you posted is good and all goes together. My problem is that it doesn't mention any make or model parts, like Asus, Eva, Corsair, etc. Quality of the components is important for reliability and warranty coverage.
Not sure the monitor's resolution you'll be using but here's a config that will work great for a 1080p ssetup. Config # 1272748. Cost $ 2223 Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Digital Storm Apollo Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i5 6600K 3.5GHz (Codename Skylake) (Unlocked CPU) (Quad Core) Motherboard: ASUS Z170-A (Intel Z170 Chipset) System Memory: 16GB DDR4 2666MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series Power Supply: 750W EVGA SuperNOVA Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Optical Drive: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x) Storage Set 1: 1x SSD (250GB Samsung 850 EVO) Storage Set 2: 1x Storage (1TB Western Digital - Black Edition) Storage Set 3: - No Thanks RAID Config: - No Thanks RAID Card: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Graphics Card(s): 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 4GB (Includes PhysX) Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio HPC Processor: - No Thanks Extreme Cooling: H20: Stage 2: Corsair H100i GTX - 240mm Radiator Liquid CPU Cooler (Extreme Performance) H20 Tube Color:- Not Applicable, I do not have a custom HydroLux liquid cooling system selected Chassis Fans: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (Blue) Airflow Control: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks Boost Processor: Stage 1: Overclock CPU 4.0GHz to 4.4GHz Boost Graphics Card(s): - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Boost Memory: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory Boost OS: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows CD) Virus Protection: FREE: McAfee AntiVirus Plus (1 Year Service Activation Card) (Not Pre-installed) ($35 Value) Office: - No Thanks Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks Portable Gaming: - No Thanks Branded Gear: - No Thanks Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 10-15 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty (3 Year Labor & 1 Year Part Replacement) There's a lot of options you can change, like a different case depending on your preference. If you want the x99 with 6 core 5820k, then start with Apllo level 3. Another way to go is the Vanquish level 4. An excellent rig for a lot less money with performance in gaming close to this config, just the little older Haswell , 4690k cpu, and less expensive psu, mobo, etc, but still works just fine. Hope this helps and good luck. |

The sealed liquid coolers are very good and the latest ones have come a long way from earlier ones a few years ago. No maintenance and the one listed has a 5 year warranty last I looked. I put in the 240mm radiator cooler but a 120mm unit will also keep the cpu cool.

Yep, that is a nice rig. I would go for the EVGA 750watt I put in, not the B1. Longer warranty for a little more.

Thats always a tough call. Most of the parts like graphics card, motherboard, etc have the manufacturer's warranty for 3 years parts or more, but the extended warranty at DS gives you one place to deal with instead of multiple companies for their RMA process. If you go with DS longer warranty, they handle everything, if not, after the 1 year, maybe 2 years with promo, DS will give technical help but the replacement is on you.
I think the 4 year, with promo, is fine. Thats 2 years parts. |

Performance wise, the graphics card is usually considered good for 3 years or so and the cpu/mobo about 5 years to stay at good gaming. Of course, that depends what future gaming will look like.
Reliabilty wise, it should last for years, but parts do fail , even in several months. My rig is over 4 years and had the graphics card and psu go bad in 3 years or so. But, DS replaced the card. No way to know. |
