Woohoo. My computer has finally shiipped! After being delayed by the Christmas rush, a company move to a new facility and a batch of bad video cards, my baby has finally left the nest! Now I just have to keep myself from running to the door every time I hear a truck drive by until it arrives next week.

I placed the order on 12/14/07 at 8:14 PM. It was a LONG Christmas and New years vacation without my new toy.
Now I have to figure out a good excuse for taking the day off that it is supposed to arrive. <cough> <cough> I feel a bout of computeritis coming on.

Wow... 10 days after I ordered mine. My seemingly simple build is apparently the system from hell

I think we can be greatful that the DS staff tests these systems the way that they do. I would hate to have them just slap it together and then not have it work when I got it. I am betting it is that bad batch of 8800 GT cards that they got that is delaying your system. When I called them on Tuesday 1/8/08, thats what they told me was delaying my system. They made mine a priority since it had been so long since I ordered.

My whole thing is that sooner or later you will run into problems with computers, it's inevitable...it's going to happen someday. It makes it so much better when you have people such as Digital Storm which are patient and really working with you over the phone to get the computer working properly. It even gives you more experience should you ever run into a problem like that again, you may know what to do right off the bat.
Some people are not patient when something they bought ends up with errors, but thats the computer world we all live in. I am a very patient person, If I would ever start kicking up a fit it would be that I am seriously getting ripped off and a company isn't doing anything to solve a problem. I am a firm believer that a person that loves computers and playing games on them is going to run into issues....it's just going to happen. Computers are really weird, I mean think about it. It runs perfectly for 3 months straight or something, then when you turn it on...randomly it starts messing up. computers are so random it's quite freaky . |

Ordered on 12/16, got it on 1/10. Long wait, but I'd rather have a comp that took a while to build and was put together correctly then some trash slapped together in 5 days like cyberpowerpc/ibuypower and the likes.

hehe, one of my friends just got his computer from cyberpowerpc. evidently his is suppose to surpass my computer, I am just not seeing his computer doing that. The thing sucks, it's a mess of wires. I will bet anything that there customer service is based out in India.

Mine went into Stage 2 on 12/26 and it's been failing testing repeatedly ever since. They can't figure out why and have apparently rebuilt the system for the third time now. It's in testing over the weekend... again. I was told today that mine is a priority now... they claim they're not working on anybody else until my system is right. If it fails again this weekend... they can move on to everybody that's supposedly been put on the back burner.... cause I won't be holding my breath any longer. 40+ days for this simple build I have is too much.

I know how you and everyone else here feels. It took over a month to get mine. But, I have had it now a few weeks and I have thrown every thing at it I have and it just laughs, dims my house lights and cranks out mega-high frame rates with out even a quiver!
Plan on takin the day off the day it comes. You are gonna be shaking with joy and won't be any good at work anyway!
Keep us posted!
