The new system arrived today.  Thank God for the wife, (I had to work).  The lazy UPS driver did not ring the dorbell or kno, just put a notice that hew was here on the door.  The wife heard him get back into his truck, ran out and made him bring the system into the house.  This after UPS leaving it sit at a hub outside Chicago from Midnight Wed until 10pm Friday.  Then sending it to the local hub, (5 hours driving time), sitting there from 0430am Sat morning until this morning.  I even called and asked if I could pick it up Monday since there were not doing any ground deliveries and they said no.  I have lodged a complain, (little good it will do).

The system booted up at of the box with no problem.

Woot! Congratulations! Good catch on behalf of the misses. I hate how shady those UPS drivers can be some time. We've had situations where they've said "No one there" when the driver didn't even stop by.

I for one plan on taking the day off on the day my system is to be delivered to my door. <still in stage 0 boohoo> I don't trust delivery guys with such an expensive order no matter who they are. And besides, it's a great excuse to miss a day of work :)

Grats to you!

Mine was sent overnight business day.  I got up early on the day it arrived and tracked it on the DHL site. Said it was out for delivery.  I was actually out in my yard working around and saw the same DHL truck drive past my house 2 times during the day.  Finally at about 215 pm, I called them to check on it.  It arrived 15 minutes later from the same guy I had seen drive by my house that day.

I surely do not think he had to go back to the airport (about 30 miles away) to get it.  Why did he not bring it when he was in my neighborhood the first two times early in the day?

That said, he did ring the door bell and it was in good shape when it arrived. He even offered to lug it in for me, which was nice but at 6' 03", 220 lbs, I told him I could manage it ok.
