I`ve been going back and forth with new components for the longest time (still saving up) SIGH.... anyways and I just noticed that the 8800GTS (640) is cheaper than the 8800GTS (512) why is that?  And could someone give me the specs for each.
Also there is a choice to tweak windows XP.  Now what do you guys do to the OS that I would maybe want to pay for the extra tweaking?

In regards to the video cards, the 8800GTS 512MB is a better performing card. It has improvements to the architecture that the older 8800GTS 640MB does not have. Remember, memory size is not the only factor in reflecting the power of a graphics card. Check out some of the reviews on both cards, you'll see what I mean.

About the OS tweaks, like Ed said, it's a "Ancient Chinese secret."

The 8800GTS 640MB is cheaper because is an older and also SLOWER card than the 512MB (G92) version. Heres some charts:

*You can also see the 8800GT 512 (also G92) beats the 640MB GTS

Ah, now that's service! Going beyond the simple question and even providing a customer with the research for them.
