Hey guys, not sure if this is the right forum for this question, so I just got a Hailstorm2 and everything is working great so far.

I just have a few questions (maybe other people who just bought a Hailstorm 2 can help me out here):

- How do I turn off the blue LED light thing in the front?  It's cool because of the interplay with the water reservoir but it's also blindingly bright depending on the angle.  It's very distracting whenever it's in my field of vision.  I've thought about just taping a small piece of black paper over it but is there a better or more aesthetic approach?

- Is it just me / my config or are there 2 fans that are louder than the rest?  I did the Stage 6 liquid cooling.  I have 4 fans on the side at the bottom of the case, 1 in the back, and 3 on top.  All of them are close to silent except the 2 closest to the back.  They are positioned above the motherboard so maybe they just need to be faster/louder?  Still I was surprised because with liquid cooling I would've thought the fans would be quieter than they are.  Any way for me to turn down the fans?

(Btw for reference my build is basically http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/finalizing-a-hailstorm-2-build-tidf20433/ except I opted to drop the sound card and internal ASUS PCE-AC66U Dual-Band PCI-E Adapter.)

Anyways, other than a couple nitpicks the system is working great.  An unexpected side benefit is I learned a bit about proper cable technique after examining how the case is set up.  Big%20Smile

Sweet build! You should post some pics!
Very similar to what I'm getting (but still waiting for it to be completed).
Can't answer the light question, but I did run across another owner who had a loud fan and the solution was a BIOS setting. Not sure if this will resolve your issue. Are the 2 louder fans the same make/model as the rest in your system? You can also contact DS technical support. They're the reason I bought a DS system.

The blue light in the front.....  If you opted for an internal light strip to highlight the interior or the fluid, there might be a small red switch on the back panel, near the bottom, that turns the strip off/on.

The noisy fans....  Assuming they're not defective, which is possible, if the fans have a 3 pin connector and plugged into a mobo header they might not be adjustable in Bios.  Depends if the mobo can voltage adjust the 3 pin fans.  Most mobo can adjust a 4 pin fan because the 4th PWM pin allows the mobo to pulse the voltage off/on to the fan very quickly for adjustment.

Look in the accessory box for a short. 3-6 " cable with a resistor encased in the wiring.  This is a fan speed step down adapter that goes between the mobo header and the fan's plug to lower its speed and the noise.

Call DS if in doubt.  They'll know for sure what your setup can do.

Good Luck. Big%20Smile
