Alex, any update on the progress of my rig?  And, is it possible to get a Fed Ex ship rather than UPS?  If so, what would be the cost?  I'll be happy to charge it to my card.

Sure,

I will have to personally check the status when I am back in the facility tomorrow morning. I will update you here when I am.

We can ship via Fed Ex if you wish, depends really on what type of computer it is (box size, weight, accessories, etc). I will let you know when I am back at the facility.

Hey,

5143 is leaving the facility today! I started the 3Dmark overnight on that last night myself. You'll still have to wait for Alex to get the shipping costs to you, but I thought I'd beat him to the punch with the good news. Tongue

Spankin good news!  Thanks for the headsup! As many have said before me, I feel like a little kid again.  Well, that's what my wife thinks all the time anyway.  Can't wait to get this rig!

Rig has arrived in Mesquite, TX (4 hours north of me just East of Dallas).  Still scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

Of course, I won't be here to receive it since I have three days of Regional sales meetings to attend we do every quarter starting Wednesday.  I guess I'll have my wife receive it.

Rig is here in San Antonio as of 8:39 this evening.  Found out that I don't need to be in the office until 5:00 pm tomorrow for a dinner.  I will probably be here when they deliver it... whew!

I feel like I'm on my first date with sweaty palms, bad breath and a boner that won't stand down when I stand up.

And now, the review...

I received my rig about 5:30 pm just as I arrived at the office to have dinner with the sales team.  UPS delivers late in my area so I had the wife on standby and asked her to call me right when it hit the door.

She calls me as I was leaving the office to go to dinner and said that it was at the house and it looked large.  Boner ensued.

I got home around 9:30 pm and anxiously asked her about any visible outward damage to the box that she could see.  She said she could see none.  As I continued to tuck my boner back into my pants, I then walked into my office and viewed the large and most intimidating box sitting on the floor.  I was simply grinning and was giddy like a school girl at her first pep rally.  I began opening the box carefully, remembering what another DS groupie had said about the packaging, and brought out what I could only describe as... "Black Death".  That's right, I said it... "Black Death".

I inspected it on the outside to make sure there was no damage to the case... it was perfect!  Not a scratch and the brushed black aluminum Extreme was a most excellent sight to behold!  I then opened the side panel and looked with awe into the spectacularly clean and neatly built interior of the rig.  It was obviously built with care and tact because everything inside was perfectly administered.

I meticulously went over and over the interior to see if anything was loose or damaged from shipping.  Nothing, absolutely nothing was amiss and it all looked so right.  After tucking my boner back again yet one more time, I then proceeded to connect all of my equipment to the beast.  It was as if she was calling for all her appendages as I was connecting them to her.

After connecting everything to her, I then asked my wife to turn her head.  For at the moment of engagement, she may witness something from me that I've never done to her.  I just didn't want her to be jealous.  She turned away as I booted my rig into her electronic state of euphoria and brought her into my world.  Life just got better!

I sat while she cycled through and then... it happened!  Vista!  My eyes beheld the wonderful marvel called Vista.  I was simply without words as I starred into my monitor and, of course, tucked back my boner again.  By now, I realized I may need a better choice of pants because I couldn't seem to manage myself very well.  Anyway, things got real nice from this point forward.

I'm typing now from my new keyboard and using my new Logitech G5 mouse that everyone has talked about here.  The mouse is wonderful I might add.  I've loaded just about everything I need as far as operating procedures go for the OS and it all is functioning without a glitch. I have had no issue thus far and this system is a freaking boner maker.  I know I've referenced boner quite a bit in this post, but you have to understand, it is just a part of the process... evidentially.

I am so impressed how quiet this rig is and it runs smoothly.  Vista is extremely fluid and I am so glad I was convinced to go with the 32 bit Premium version.  I have much exploring still to do and have to go into the second hard drive and load all my games.  This system rocks!

Alex and crew, for someone that simply was looking one night on someone else's site for information about processors and came across yours, I have been extremely blessed to have run across you all.  You guys are awesome and, although you're not perfect, you strive toward it.  This is one of the many standards that will continue to set you apart from the rest.  Keep up the good work and I will post some pics in the next few days of my rig.
